존재의 숨결을 따라 번지는 울림
김민의 회화는 보이지 않는 것을 향한 사유의 행보다. 화면을 채우는 무수한 점과 결은 단순한 형태의 반복이 아니라, 삶의 깊은 내면에서 솟구쳐 올라온 감각의 파편이다. 점 하나는 씨앗이자 흔적이고, 결 하나는 호흡이며 흐름이다. 그 점들이 서로를 만나고 스며드는 과정은, 서로 다른 존재들이 충돌 없이 감응하고, 조용한 파동을 나누는 세계를 상상하게 만든다.
작가는 통제보다는 수용의 태도로 화면에 접근한다. 천연 안료의 번짐, 비가공 천의 숨결, 오일과 돌가루가 이루는 예측 불가능한 흔적들은 인간의 의도를 넘어선 자연스러운 질서 속에서 나타난다. 그렇게 형성된 화면은 우연과 필연, 규칙과 자유의 경계 위에서 균형을 이루며, 살아 있는 감각의 지도를 만들어낸다. 삶과 죽음, 생성과 소멸의 순환 속에서 존재가 어떻게 흔적을 남기고 연결되는지를 묻는다. 작가가 오래도록 돌보아 온 식물, 햇빛과 흙, 사라진 이의 체온은 모두 점으로, 결로, 잔향으로 화면에 머무른다. 그것은 침묵 속에 켜켜이 쌓여온 시간의 언어이며, 말로는 설명되지 않는 울림의 기록이다.
이 작업을 마주하는 관람자는 단순한 이미지의 감상이 아니라, 감각과 사유, 기억과 감정이 교차하는 장 속으로 초대된다. 점 하나하나는 미세한 떨림을 일으키고, 그 떨림은 어느새 보는 이의 내면 어딘가에 반향을 일으킨다. 우리는 그 속에서 질문하게 된다. 나는 누구이며, 지금 어디에 있으며, 무엇을 감각하고 있는가? 김민의 회화는 시끄럽지 않다. 그러나 그 고요함 속에 흐르는 울림은 깊고 넓다. 그것은 존재하는 모든 것의 본질을 향한 응시이며, 예술이 감각의 언어로 세계와 다시 관계 맺는 방식이다. 점은 단지 하나의 점이 아니라, 나와 당신, 세계를 연결하는 파장이며, 화면은 감각이 머무는 하나의 영적 지도다. 이 비가시적 질서의 풍경 앞에서, 우리는 사유의 문을 연다.

Breath of Being, Ripples of Resonance

Kim Min’s painting is a contemplative journey toward the invisible. The countless dots and textures that fill the canvas are not mere repetitions of form, but fragments of sensation that have surged up from the depths of life’s interior. Each dot is both a seed and a trace; each stroke, a breath and a flow. As these marks meet and permeate one another, they evoke a world where different beings resonate without collision, quietly sharing their waves.

The artist approaches the canvas with an attitude of receptivity rather than control. The spreading of natural pigments, the breath of untreated fabric, and the unpredictable traces left by oil and stone powder emerge within an organic order that transcends human intention. The resulting surfaces hold a delicate balance between chance and necessity, rule and freedom—unfolding as living maps of sensation. They ask how, in the cycles of life and death, creation and disappearance, being leaves traces and forms connections. The plants the artist has tended, the sunlight and soil, the warmth of those who have passed—all linger on the canvas as dots, textures, and afterscent.
